As part of the Radical Teacher at 50 effort, the editorial board is developing an archival and documentary initiative to help preserve, memorialize, and share the people, movements, and teaching practices that helped shape Radical Teacher and its mission over the decades.
This effort is intended to document not only the history of the journal itself, but also the wider community of editors, contributors, teachers, activists, artists, and organizers whose work has sustained and influenced Radical Teacher across generations. We hope to build a living archive that reflects the journal’s political commitments, intellectual history, and ongoing relevance.
The editorial board is now soliciting materials from past and current members, contributors, friends, family members, and others who were involved in the development, circulation, teaching, and community life of Radical Teacher. We also welcome contributions that help reflect on, interpret, or explore these histories.
We are especially interested in materials such as:
- photographs
- letters and correspondence
- meeting notes, agendas, or minutes
- flyers, posters, and ephemera
- drafts, essays, and reflections
- stories or personal recollections
- teaching materials, syllabi, or classroom resources
- audio or video recordings
- artwork, graphics, or visual materials
- documents related to the journal’s editorial, political, or organizational history
We also welcome suggestions for people we should contact, interviews we should pursue, and other archival sources that may be important to include.
If you have something you would like to share, or if you have questions about whether a material might be relevant, please contact Chris Kennedy, project lead, at radicalteacher75@gmail.com.
Thank you for helping us preserve and extend the history of Radical Teacher.
