Rebecca Bridges is the teacher name of Rebecca T. Dickinson, who is the author of thirteen creative works ranging from poetry to fiction to nonfiction in different literary magazines, online media, and collections. In May 2020, she became a LEGO Master Educator, recognized for her use of LEGOS in Science, Technnology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) education in her English Lanuages Arts (ELA) and Social Studies classrooms. After she taught for two years in an inner city middle school in South Carolina, Dickinson faced Secondary Trauma after experiencing the childhood and PTSD trauma her students experienced. She taught the same group of students for two years, and witnessed or tried to stop five fights in six months. One year after she left her school, her five-year-old daughter, Corrie, died suddenly of an undetected tumor.
