Abstract
The past several years have seen significant political backlash against equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) frameworks in education. This backlash is designed to create an environment of fear for teachers and students alike. This essay explores what is involved in teaching public high school while afraid, and how the queer politics of persistence offer a guide.
